For over forty-nine years Michael Charles Taylor has established himself as a portrait painter; working on commission for individuals and corporations throughout the United States. Some of his clients include Honorable Winfield Dunn, former Governor of Tennessee; Dr. James Hughston of the famed Hughston Sports Medicine Hospital Foundation in Colombus, Georgia; Summerfield Johnston, former Chief Executive Officer of Coca-cola; and Rankin M. Smith Sr. former owner and CEO of the Atlanta Falcons.
Michael Charles Taylor’s paintings have been featured on the cover of Saturday Evening Post and the Yankee magazine. Taylor’s work has been exhibited in the Coe Kerr Gallery in New York City, the Shore Gallery in Boston, Massachusetts, and in the Hunter Museum of Art in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Taylor is recognized for the delicate, dreamlike quality of his portraits of families and children. While his style is warm and impressionistic, he demonstrates consummate skill in capturing the subjects features in a realistic manner. And now for the first time in his successful 49-year carreer as a portrait painter, United States Politics is his newest subject.
“Young Lady Liberty-The Color of Gold”. Round and round she goes when we stop only GOD Knows, was finished in late 2012. In this painting he continues to use the figure as his dominant subject to emphasize his ideas on religion, economics, and war.

Have had a painting of children playing marbles since the early 80s. It's a wonderful piece, and I never tire of looking at it.
